Pith is the core, the essence, the heart of the matter. It's also the white layer inside citrus that people peel off and toss — even though it's the nourishing, fibrous part that holds the whole fruit together. That's the promise in one image: the overlooked substance underneath the surface.

And Pith is a supplement, not a substitute. It runs alongside public school — an after-school and weekend add-on that fills the gaps a classroom skips, never a homeschool curriculum that replaces it.

Who it's for

Any parent or teacher who wants a kid to get the fuller story and grow up hard to fool. Not just the little ones — packets span the grades, wherever a gap needs filling.

Where the packets come from

When a state rewrites what schools teach, some things get added and others quietly lose their place — the context, the counter-argument, the fuller story. Pith reads the changes to Texas's public-school curriculum, finds each of those gaps, and builds a packet that patches it — so a kid gets the whole picture, not just the part that was left in.

We're starting with Texas because that's where the change is happening now. Many packets work anywhere, and we're adding evergreen ones — good on any curriculum, in any state — as we go.

What we believe

• Get to the pith. Lead with the real idea. If a sentence isn't doing work, peel it.
• Warm, not soft. We talk to parents like smart peers and to kids with delight — never baby-talk, never a lecture.
• Fair to every side. We teach the honest version of each side and let kids reason for themselves. The product is genuinely pluralist.
• Curious out loud. Questions over answers, wonder over authority. "How do we know?" is the house tone.
• Concrete beats clever. A real example, a real number, a real story — specific over slogan.
